Sodwana Bay, meaning ‘little one on its own’ in Zulu, is located on the Elephant Coast of KwaZulu Natal in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This area is a World Heritage Site which is managed by the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, an independent organisation. This was formed to protect the area stretching about 150km from the Mozambique border to Cape Vidal and 3 nautical miles out to sea.
